The confessional before you is ornate and well maintained, ebony colored wood embellished with the visage of two angels. A jet black curtain separates the confessional from the rest of the Church, offering a surprising degree of privacy to any eavesdroppers nearby. Unlike the rest of Krakow, the inside is dimly lit by a small light bulb securely attached to the ceiling which emits a faint red light. While the atmosphere isn't exactly cozy, it is private.
A smooth voice calls out to you once you've sat down, familiar enough to identify the speaker despite the partition between you.
"Welcome welcome. I take it something is on your mind?"We're in a museum now, Harry.

Oh, everyone is irritated with him. I doubt there's a single one of us who finds his actions acceptable. As you saw, no one was willing to speak of anything important with you there, and none of us expected you to show up either. It seems Rean was surprised as well, and he's often in charge of preparing food for these gatherings, if not arranging them himself.
Despite his many faults, Dazai is a capable man and isn't nearly as stupid as he pretends he is. I was a bit surprised to see how foolish he was today. I doubt many people will trust him after this.

[ ??????? at Dazai continues. ]
Your next question?
no subject
As for my next question... I understand if you can't answer this one, but how long do you imagine you'll be working with the Lady? Is this an arrangement that you expect to be over with fairly soon?
no subject
I don't foresee it being a long term assignment.
no subject
[can't relate!!!]
Your next question?
no subject
Let's see... perhaps this borders too much on my original ask, but I will pose it to you regardless. Did Dazai breach the subject of fossils with you?
no subject
He did, yes. He mentioned something about a display case that he broke into, and he has a theory that the fossils are important somehow. I'm still not sure what to make of it, really.
[He is also now the proud owner of one (1) fossil, but he left it back in his room because it's not like he's carrying that thing around??]
no subject
I know where he got that idea from him. [ And because he's just like this, he's whistling. ]
no subject
Well, it sounds like that's going to be very interesting.
[you guys have fun, hopefully dazai doesn't get himself killed????]
I suppose it's my turn now, isn't it...? Are you from a different world as well, Rembrandt?
no subject
[ Hopefully! There's a pause before he answers. ]
I am, in many ways.
no subject
[But that's going to require another question, isn't it.]
Well, go ahead, your turn.
no subject
Is there a reason you didn't eat at the meeting?
no subject
[so you know, paranoia, nbd.]
What can you tell me about the world you come from?
no subject
[ Why is Rem like this. ]
I don't mind answering, but that question is very broad. Do you have anything specific in mind?
no subject
I'm curious about the level of technology and if it's comparable to any of the worlds we're familiar with - or even this one.
no subject
Time is a curious thing. My world... is far less advanced than this one, but I imagine that is because this place is a couple hundred years ahead. I will concede that science is fascinating, most of the ills and problems in my world were made out to be due to magic or superstitions, when the actual cause was scientific in nature.
no subject
[alternate worlds and technology are wild, it's great!!]
no subject
[ He hasn't asked a question back yet, but has he noticed it himself, hm. ]
no subject
[Something more to research, then...
He's not stupid enough to think that Rembrandt's completely missed that it's his turn for a question, but he can push the boundaries just a tiny bit today, perhaps.]
Do you like it here?
no subject
[ Unclear if he sounds approving or not. ]
I find this place more interesting than most, the rules that govern it are... peculiar. But it doesn't matter much to me where I am, I've traveled to many places far and wide.
..my turn now. Do you think someone will take the hint this week? [ He doesn't need to say that he assumes one of you will go knives out for this incentive. ]
no subject
An answer to that question though... Hmm. Thanks, Rembrandt.]
I believe it depends on exactly what happens. It's a bit hard to guess given how unpredictable those trials can be, but it seems likely that it will be necessary and someone will volunteer to take it. We've seen what it has done to Seteth, but now that we know, there may be others who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the hint.
It does also depend on who dies, however. I have a hard time seeing them willing to take the hint if it's someone they don't like or consider a threat. Many of them are self-sacrificial, but I can't see most of them pursuing "justice" for the killer if they've removed someone that could pose a threat or is otherwise a pain.
...Teru Mikami excluded, of course.
no subject
[ The dice are biased. ]
no subject
I've been curious about that as well. I suspect many of us have no real interest in determining the correct killer and would use the trials as a way to remove those who aren't beneficial to us or are otherwise deemed a threat.
Though that would be more trouble than it's worth.
[Anyway...]
It seems as though you're capable of traveling to our worlds, so I'm curious... Do you know the current state of things in all of them at the moment?
no subject
[ Like if Mikami or Reans bites it, how Wild West are we going? There's a beat before he responds. ]
As I said before, time is strange. Even within worlds, it's possible for the flow of time to be different. So as to that question, I can't give you a proper answer. You may ask another question if you like.

Is the Lady capable of traveling to other worlds, or is that a power only you possess?
