Humans seem fascinated with technology in this day and age. [ He sounds like a grandpa when he says this. But regardless he gives him extremely accurate details (from the entrance foyer walk 9 paces to the west, past the red sculpture and so on). ]

That's one of the quirks of humanity. With every passing decade, they start chasing some new trend. I can't say I find this one as appealing as sailing or horse racing, but I'm sure it has its charm.
