The confessional before you is ornate and well maintained, ebony colored wood embellished with the visage of two angels. A jet black curtain separates the confessional from the rest of the Church, offering a surprising degree of privacy to any eavesdroppers nearby. Unlike the rest of Krakow, the inside is dimly lit by a small light bulb securely attached to the ceiling which emits a faint red light. While the atmosphere isn't exactly cozy, it is private.
A smooth voice calls out to you once you've sat down, familiar enough to identify the speaker despite the partition between you.
"Welcome welcome. I take it something is on your mind?"We're in a museum now, Harry.

It always is with his type.
[ He is also looking forward to it, apparently. ]
Hoh, this one won't be free. But very well. I had thought that you would be far more shallow than you actually are. I have dealt with many, many humans throughout my life some of which have aspirations for power and dreams of grandiosity. By now it's fairly boring and trite, like reading a script you have memorized by heart.
Put another way: I have no qualms about someone like Cumore who acts in a way most others would find repentant. On the other hand, my actual interest in him is rather small. I originally thought you two would be more similar, but I have been pleasantly surprised so far.
[ How's that for a long winded answer. ]

Cumore is interesting in his own way, but I understand what you're getting at. There are plenty of people just like him. I'm pleased that you don't find me nearly as boring.
[...he looks so damn proud of himself oh my god. compliments!!!]
But of course I didn't expect that one for free. What question do you have for me?
no subject
The same to you of course, what do you think of me?
no subject
You're a fascinating individual, but I really haven't learned as much about you as I'd like. You're very intelligent and patient - you have to be, considering you're putting up with all of us - but there's so much more to you than meets the eye. I would like to learn all about you eventually, but I know some things are always going to remain your secrets.
no subject
In that case, go on and ask another question of me.
no subject
Well, since we're already talking about you... Tell me, Rembrandt, how did you and the Lady meet? I'm very curious to hear more about you.
no subject
I don't have much interest in those matters.
no subject
[rembrandt is not a fire emblem character, confirmed!!!!]
Your turn. What question do you have for me?
no subject
[ Clearly this is the kind of guy you want to romance, A+. ]
What do you think of the hint and penalty the Lady has offered to you?
no subject
Personally, I find them incredibly entertaining. Oh, I'm sure you've had people tell you it's dreadful for her to hold onto evidence and put people in a position where they feel they must take her offer and sacrifice themselves for the greater good... but really, it's just fun to watch them trip over themselves to see who will take the offer. I'm hoping Mikami does at some point, just because I want to see what happens to him.
[thanks, iago.]
Though come to think of it, I haven't seen Seteth since then, so I'm not exactly sure what happened to him.
[probably because he locked himself in his room all weekend smh]
Is that also part of the Lady's experiments, or is it something she does for fun?
[He's assuming that's entirely the Lady's doing, since it seems more her style, tbh.]

[ mood. ]
He isn't much worse for the wear in the end. I imagine having your appearance changed is discomforting for many, but considering his history, he is more well suited for it than others. And he was able to keep his mind as well.
I would say yes to both things.
no subject
Is that usually a concern? Losing one's mind, that is. Not that I have any intention on taking such an offer, I'm simply curious if we should be worried for anyone else who does.
[Yes to both though... About what he expected, honestly.]
Oh, my apologies, you haven't asked a question yet. Ignore that one for now, then.
no subject
[ Now for his question... ]
Consider this one question equal to the two you asked of me. If you could guarantee one other's safety amongst your fellow survivors, excluding your own, who would it be?
no subject
As for that question, though... Iago's quiet for a moment, drumming his long nails against the seat as he considers it.]
I'm not the sort to be sentimental. I would choose someone who would be most useful to me, regardless of any personal feelings I may or may not have toward them. It does depend on the situation, ultimately. My answer today could differ from my answer a week from now, or even tomorrow.
But with that said... I would choose Dist.
[He hesitates for a moment once that's out there, like he's not entirely sure it's really the right answer. He's certainly not blind to Dist's flaws - and there are a lot of them - but that answer feels right and Iago nods as if to confirm it to himself.]
While he may be easy to rile and a bit unpredictable, his intellect is unparalleled. I can't claim to be the smartest person in our group with him around.
[...is that jealousy or admiration????]

I see, thank you.

Thank you for answering my questions, as always. I should take my leave, though; I suppose I was here for a bit longer than I thought I'd be.
Until next time, Rembrandt.
