A Time for Tea

[ With the proper planning, one always has time for tea. Tuesday might seem to be a busy day for the pair of masterminds, but after their dramatic show of the motive, it was more a day to sit back and observe than anything else. Or on this very Tuesday, time to have tea with a certain someone.

The doors to the locked Greenhouse will be unlocked at 3pm sharp, the sweet smell of Chinese Hibiscus and Plumeria giving a sweet, pleasant scent to the air. Stringed lights overhead and the balmy air are out of place at once given the season and situation, but whatever trickery or schemes are the cause of this tropical greenhouse, it's certainly preferable to the outside chill thunderstorms. The Lady and Rembrandt are located not too far inside, the former seated at a table set for three, book on her lap, and the latter toying with a string of foxgloves hanging overhead. Rembrandt spots their guest first, a smile blooming on his lips, a stark contrast to the Lady's glower. ]

Welcome, welcome. And what did you bring for us today?

There's always a learning curve with a new job, wouldn't you say? My past employer was in many ways different, yet similar to the Lady. [ He chuckles at the last bit, setting his tea down. ]

I won't dispute a truth.

That's fair, I guess.

[ Rean couldn't imagine someone so ... like Rembrandt needing to have things set straight, but he supposed it made sense that things could get rough in the beginning. Just like any other working, platonic relationship. ]

...Do you mind if I ask how you two found each other? It doesn't feel like either of you just up and decided one day to work with each other. Or I guess randomly happened along one another by chance.

[The Lady glances at Rembrandt. For a moment she's silent, until...]

I came upon some valuable information during my schemes, and they were about Rembrandt. I thought his aid would be useful, so I called someone who worked closely with me to accompany me while I searched for him. Unfortunately I lost my companion, but I did manage to find Rembrandt.

[She frowns for a moment, pensive, reminiscing those times. She doesn't seem displeased at all, but she seems rather guarded about this topic]

[ He heaves a big shrug with a crooked smile. ]

That is a far less exciting take on how we met than a blind date.

[The Lady rolls her eyes]

I have told you it wasn't a date! So it's you who is spreading those weird rumors!

[Welp. Hey, Rean, distract them before she starts bickering with him. That'd be endless]

It's as much the truth as what you just said, my Lady.

[ Nope look at them go. ]

[ Oh dear Aidios...

Aaaactually this was kind of funny? He'll cover his mouth to hide his smile for a moment because he's sure if either one saw it'll get really ridiculous, before clearing his throat. ]

...Alright you two, I think things might be getting a little out of hand here.

[soulspice]

Ugh! And here I thought I was done with having lechers as assistants!

[She throws her hands in the air. She turns to Rean:]

Can you believe I have to deal with this guy 24/7?!

[As if the Lady was an agreeable boss, hah.

And then Rean interrupts. Thank goodness for him]

Nonsense, we're merely talking. [ ^_^ smile activate. But he'll wave his hand and seemingly settle. ]

And you know that I'm not truly lecherous besides.

[reanbeans]

[ Rean felt a little conflicted that he was five seconds from possibly having a real laugh in awhile because of his captors. But also, it was at The Lady's expense, so he decided it wasn't so bad. ]

...To be fair, I don't think Rembrandt strikes me as the lecherous type. Though, he seems like he's the type of guy who likes to tease.

Oh, sorry, I wasn't aware you were the only one who was allowed to start salacious rumors, Rembrandt!

[This is a losing battle and she knows it. Instead, she sinks her head into her hands]

I still have no regrets about hiring him, but he sure loves to push the boundaries just because he has job security. You wouldn't last not even three days with him working for you, Rean.

Again, I won't deny a truth. [ So bingo rean, rem even pointing for emphasis. ]

I imagine Rean's...management style would be much different than yours. More in line with my previous employer, perhaps.

Maybe you're wrong, maybe you're right. But I'm not sure if it's something I'd like to find out.

[ He'll then look kind of amused at the other confirming what he said, though that faded into faint interest at the mention of the previous employer. ]

...Really?

In a manner of speaking. There would be differences too of course, such as that you're much taller. [ It's not clear whether he's being completely serious or not, but his smile is more natural than usual. ]

[The Lady sips her tea]

You should consider hiring him even if you don't like him. Once we're done here, it'll be matter of days before he needs another job.
